Children and Youth Ministry Fall 2022
Sunday, August 28
- Blessing of Backpacks and beginning of new school year during worship
- Fellowship and fun for the whole congregation at Krouskop Park, Earl Anderson Shelter (corner of 8th and Hwy 80) following worship (kayaking on the Pine River is being planned as well as games and a potluck picnic)
September 10 – 20
- Confirmation class and review from Germany. Via What’sApp. 7th -12th grade youth only! Short videos recorded by Pastor Michelle live from Luther sites in Germany with discussion via the social app. Reply to letter you receive from Pastor to sign up.
Sunday, September 11
- God’s Work. Our Hands Sunday. (Service project for all ages – help move all quilts downstairs and pack for shipping)
Sunday, September 25
- Sunday School Kick-off. Youth friendly worship, Sunday school begins following worship
Saturday, October 1 (rain date October 2), 3-4 pm
- Pet Blessing, St. John’s front lawn, (this is for all people, but children will like too!) Sunday, October 30 (Reformation Sunday) - Affirmation of Baptism (Confirmation) during worship
Saturdays, November 12 (10 – 11:30 am) & November 19 (11 am – 12:30 pm)
- First Communion classes (Nov. 12 includes making bread, Nov. 19 includes lunch) for children 1st – 4th grades. Contact Pastor Michelle to sign up.
Thursday, November 24 - Annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner organized by St. John’s Youth team (YEMT) More details to follow
December – Christmas program by youth, date TBA
