We met our AV Upgrade Fundraising Goal - actually we surpassed it!
And, at the same time our regular giving did not decrease and we have had no draws on our line of credit in the past 3 months and as of June, we have $289 left in line of credit debt from the beginning of the year extra expenses.
Woo-hoo! Praise God!
And, do not forget back on May 19, you surpassed the youth's goal of raising $500 to end world hungar as part of the ELCA Generation Zero-Hunger Campaign - donating $1219! (which was matched with $500 from our surplus Thankgiving money used for hunger programs). And, this $1719 has been sent on to the ELCA World Hunger / Generation Zero-Hunger campaing to be part of the first $250,000 to be matched dollar for dollar, which means our youth collected $1219 which became $3438 with matching funds.
Praise God for your faith and generosity because this type of generosity is not possibile without a deep trust in God. (see 2 Corinthians 9:8-10) - "8And God is able to provide you with every blessing in abundance, so that by always having enough of everything, you may share abundantly in every good work. 9As it is written,
"He scatters abroad, he gives to the poor; his righteousness endures forever."
10He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your righteousness."
It is exciting to witness the committment to continue to reach out with the Word and Love of God beyond the walls of the church from local radio broadcasts, to our current local cable broadcast and online livestream. It is fun to think of ways we will be able to improve and even expand our outreach with the upgrade. Below is a copy of the letter from Keith Behling, A/V Team Co-ordinator
Wonderful News!
To members of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Richland Center, Wisconsin.:
Amazement, joy, and excitement was in the voice I heard from Jeanette Burkum, volunteer for the Audio-Visual A/V team when she called me about 5:45 PM, Monday, June 3, 2024. She has served as congregation council member and president, and delegate to synod and church-wide assemblies, and I have never heard her speak with that amount of excitement. Reason: she told me the A/V fund raising goal was reached today, with a total of $61,545.19! WOW! AMAZING! THANKS BE TO GOD!!!
Now we can move forward with finalizing the services of Peak Systems and others for the A/V upgrade desired for months, no, years.
As a reminder, prior to the announcement for initiating a capital campaign, it was identified and reported the essential need to replace heating system boilers. This too will require investment into the future of St. John’s faculty. Upkeep of our house of worship, offices, meeting/gathering spaces, education spaces and kitchen is very important. We owe it to those before us who began a plan for building our church prior to 1953 (the year on the cornerstone), to provide compassionate care of the facility. Giving what you certainly will be appreciated. Can we do it without chicken dinner fundraisers as in those early days?
Sincerely yours,
Keith E Behling, A/V Team Coordinator
